Vilma's extraordinary gifts were initiated while she was still in her mother’s womb Vilmas mother was struck by lightning while Pregnant with Vilma.

Vilma lives a life of service to her culture, to her family. Vilma works with Women in her village to help them gain their independence and learn skills To help them support their families. 

Vilma is the granddaughter of Doña Natividad Challayku and Don Benito Qoriwaman, they were well known Q'ero shaman-educators. 

Vilma's grandparents nurtured her healing powers and taught her, she also received intensive training from her parents. 

Vilma's speaks three languages fluently: Quechua, Spanish and English. She also received a university education. Vilma has accompanied the Dalai Lama to Machu Picchu.
